All Clear!!

I just got news that my friend got her pathology report today. They got all the cancer out and her lymphnodes are clear! Praise GOD!! She will still have to do radiation and maybe some chemo, but it will be much less since everything is clear.

God is good!!

Wow, where have I been

Well, I see that I haven't posted in a LONG time. I really don't think anybody is reading anyway so I guess it's okay.

I have finally gone to the doctor about my ear. I've been on medicine and it didn't really do anything. I go back next week and will probably have to do a CT scan. If they find the problem, it's worth it.

Life going towards 40 has been scary lately. I have two friends that have been dealing with the discovery of cancer in the past month. One is younger than me and had cervical cancer. They removed it and she is fine. She probalby won't have to do anything else. My other friend turned 40 and 2 weeks later found out she had breast cancer. She found a lump herself and went to the doctor. After a mammogram and biopsy, she had a lumpectomy yesterday. They will find results from this biopsy next week. She will have to have many radiation treatments no matter what that biopsy shows. We are praying that everything comes back clean though so she won't have to do chemo.

It really just makes me think about how precious life is and how we never know what will happen tomorrow.

Headaches

Well, in my previous post, I mentioned my headache. I'm just going to throw this out there for you to see if you have any advice. Other than going to the Dr. as I am calling to make an appointment tomorrow.

Since about Feb. I've been having a lot of pressure in and around my right ear. On occasion, like today, it really flares up and my entire head hurts. Almost to the point of migraine but not quite. When I bend over the slightest little bit I can feel the pressure build. When I sneeze, oh my gosh, it brought me to my knees and I thought my head was going to explode. I've been on Allegra and Claritin. I just finished 14 days of Biaxin and it doesn't seem to be helping. My doctors haven't been real helpful. So I am going on my own to see if I can get an ENT to see me.

Anybody have any experience with this sort of thing?

Blog babble

I've had a headache all day and slept alot. Pain reliever will do that to you when you take enough. Now it's 1:45 am and I can't fall asleep. After trying for 2 hours I got up.

I've really been trying to figure out what I want this blog to be. And I'm struggling with it. I look at so many wonderful blogs and want to have one too! I guess I just haven't found my "voice" yet. I'm not witty like a BooMama, or insightful like Heather from Mom2Mom Connection, I'm just me.

I started the blog so I could participate in the Christmas tour of homes. I really liked doing that. I guess I'll just keep joining things like that until I figure out where I want to go. I just wanted a place also, that I could babble about things in my life and maybe get some feedback from someone "outside looking in". I'll work on that.

WFMW - I'm Bored - Letterboxing

I've never posted one of these before, but I just had to share a great family activity for everyone. My family and I enjoy the hobby of "letterboxing" very much. Basically it is a huge "nationwide" treasure hunt. You go on line, find clues posted in your area and take off. We have been to so many places that we have never seen before, in our own area of town. Many of the locations are at parks, so we can find a letterbox and then play on the playground. Some of the hikes are long and some are just right there in front of you. Then, if you find that you really like the activities, you can hide your own boxes. The kids can help make the stamps, the journals, pick the locations and write the clues. It is SO much fun and there is a great community of "boxers" out there to communicate with. Check out these web sites for more information: http://www.letterboxing.org or http://www.atlasquest.com

I forgot to say that this can be a very inexpensive hobby. If all you want to do is find boxes, you just need a journal and a personal stamp (which can be store bought if you choose - both of my kids are) Most of the cost for finding comes from gas! Right now that could be an issue. Sometimes there may be a park enterance fee. The clues should let you know if there is cost involved. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Hoops update

1st let me say I posted this on my "family" blog and has caused major harassment for my hubby. Oops. :)

2nd - with the weekend games over I'm in 2nd place!! I know it won't last long so I have to enjoy it while I can. Dear Hubby is like 15th or so. I"m so glad I know my competetive spirit is part of why he loves me so much.
